The "WARS" deck chair represents our interpretation of the classic European beach chair—featuring a distinctive low-profile design with extended, nearly upright back support that's become iconic on beaches and waterfronts across the continent. Handcrafted in our Białka cooperative workshops, this compact model combines 75 years of Polish woodworking tradition with practical portability. What distinguishes the "WARS" from traditional deck chairs is its unique proportions and design philosophy. The chair sits lower to the ground with a more vertical back that extends higher, creating a seating position that's excellent for beach activities—you're close to the sand or ground, making it easy to reach items, interact with children playing nearby, or simply feel more connected to the outdoor environment. The extended back provides excellent support all the way up to your head, making this chair surprisingly comfortable despite its compact appearance. The seating surface features elegant wood slats rather than fabric—similar to our "RABA" design but in beach chair proportions. This all-wood construction offers significant advantages for beach and waterfront use: no fabric to get sandy, wet swimsuits don't damage or stain the seating, the slats allow water and sand to fall through rather than accumulating, and the wood dries quickly in sun and breeze. The slatted design also provides excellent ventilation, keeping you comfortable even on hot days. Each chair is crafted from solid wood sourced from FSC®-certified sustainable Polish forests. Our artisans shape the distinctive frame with its characteristic angles, sand each slat smooth for comfort against bare skin, and finish everything with water-based, eco-friendly lacquers that protect against salt air, moisture, and intense sun exposure while highlighting the wood's natural beauty. The "WARS" folds to remarkably compact dimensions—just 79 x 35 x 4.5cm—making it genuinely portable. The lightweight construction (relative to our larger models) means you can actually carry this chair to the beach, load multiple chairs in a vehicle for family outings, or move it around your property with ease. Despite the compact folded size and portability, the chair provides stable, comfortable seating when deployed. The chair features adjustable positions, though fewer than our full-size models, optimized for the beach chair use case—typically upright for socializing and reading, or reclined for sunbathing.
